The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) is proceeding with plans for a new Embassy compound on the Suur-Ameerika/Väike-Ameerika site. The project is currently in the due diligence phase, which includes a physical survey of the property and informs the preparation of a detail plan for the design and construction process. OBO and the U.S. Embassy in Tallinn will continue to work with the City of Tallinn and the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure that all aspects of the project are transparent and comply with local regulations, including a public display and consultation period before the detail plan is finalized. The U.S. Embassy in Tallinn, in conjunction with OBO, will continue to provide public updates on this process, as appropriate.
