Tere hommikust!
It is my pleasure to celebrate the work and renovation completed at the kindergarten in Võru. I first visited here in July, while work was ongoing. I am honored to return to represent the United States at this important occasion.
Thanks to U.S. Department of Defense funds, we have been able to provide interior renovations to this building: renovation of ceilings and walls; repair of humidity damage, installation of new electrical wiring and new lighting fixtures.
All told, over half million dollars were committed to this project, improving the academic environment for both students and educators.
The United States is committed to our partnerships within Estonia. Projects like this showcase that our bilateral relationship takes place not only in Tallinn, but also here in Võru and other communities across Estonia.
Today we highlight the collaborative work conducted here –by the U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. European Command, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Mapri Ehitus company – but also with our partners within Vőru, as well as the kindergarten administration and faculty.
We take great pride in investing in the education of children within this community. Educating young minds serves as the foundation for a prosperous society.
I would like to thank Mapri Ehitus for their exceptional work with this renovation project. I’d also like to recognize the efforts of members of Võru City leadership, the Mayor, and the kindergarten director and staff for allowing the U.S. Embassy to work with you. Hopefully together we have achieved a mutually beneficial project that benefits children and the Vőru community long into the future.
