B-1 to Fly Over Tallinn

October 17, 2023

Two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers will conduct a fly over of Tallinn on Thursday, October 19, at approximately 15:00, to demonstrate solidarity with our Estonian Allies and in support of U.S Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and U.S. European Command (EUCOM) mission objectives.  The planned flight path will take the aircraft at a low altitude over Freedom Square toward Lauluväljak (Song Festival Grounds).

The B-1s are from the 7th Bomb Wing, 9th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron out of Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, currently deployed to RAF Fairford, United Kingdom, for the Bomber Task Force 24-1. The B-1B Lancer is a long-range, heavy bomber that can carry the Air Force’s  largest conventional payload of guided and unguided weapons.

The United States has provided more than $500 million in security assistance to Estonia since 2016, and regularly conducts bilateral and Allied military-to-military engagements in Estonia with U.S. personnel. As NATO Allies, the two countries regularly train together to improve coordination and interoperability between the armed forces of both nations.
