Assistant Treasury Secretary Centers on Addressing Money Laundering

U.S. Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes Marshall Billingslea visited Tallinn May 16 – 19 to meet with banking oversight officials as well as representatives from Estonia’s banking sector.  Assistant Secretary Billingslea also had an opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Ratas and President Kaljulaid.  In addition, the Assistant Secretary took part in the International Centre for Defense and Security’s (ICDS) Lennart Meri Conference, participating in a panel focused on money laundering.

Assistant Secretary Billingslea’s visit underscored the importance the United States puts on a strong and well-regulated financial sector, as well as our cooperation with Estonian authorities to combat corruption, illicit finance and other threats to international security.
